Nothing is better than sun, sand and relaxation offered by Florida’s beaches. Here are five of our favorites. If you have not yet experienced them, we urge you to explore these new destinations.
If you’re looking for a unique beach experience, add Sanibel Island to your bucket list. Sanibel Island is renowned for its shelling beaches as well as the Sanibel Stoop. With excellent restaurants, accommodations, tennis, fishing, shopping, canoeing and more, Sanibel Island has everything you could wish for in one beautiful location!
2. Palm Island
Palm Island might be one of Florida’s best-kept secrets. The island is seven miles long and only 700 yards wide and is known for its relaxing atmosphere. The island contains few cars, and visitors get around the island on foot, bike or golf cart.
While Fort De Soto State Park isn’t technically in South Florida, it’s worth a visit. The park offers great diversity of ecosystems, boasting a wealth of birds, sea life, wildlife and plants. Visiting the historic fort, walk over three miles of sandy beach, have a picnic at one of 15 shelters, hike seven miles of paved trails, visit two piers, camp and more.
4. Venice Beach
Conveniently located to shopping and dining, this public beach offers picnicking, scuba diving and life guards.
Located on Anna Maria Island, Coquina Beach offers the longest stretch of sand on the island with lots of free parking, lifeguards, concession stands, picnic table, showers and more.
